I looked through some of the tutorials on the web site for Smashing Magazine which is a magazine devoted to the latest trends in web design. Many of the tutorials are for creating elements in Photoshop. One of the tutorials I looked at was for using Illustrator one creating a pencil icon (http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2008/06/06/icon-design-tutorial-drawing-a-pencil-icon/). The problem with the video file that I downloaded from this page is for a Mac and not a PC. The site does show the step by step process of creating the icon so it is not a problem in that you can still learn how to create this in Illustrator.

One of the Photoshop tutorials I looked at was for creating sky and space effects. It was pretty amazing to see the step by step process on this one. The video I viewed is at http://www.freephotoshop.ca/tutorials/effects/photoshop-space-and-planet-tutorial

I see how useful the tutorials could be when I start designing.
