Blog Software

I looked at the following site which can be used to create a blog:

Blog@USF http://blog.usf.edu/
Blogger https://www.blogger.com/start
WordPress http://wordpress.com/
Zoho Writer http://writer.zoho.com/jsp/home.jsp?serviceurl=%2Findex.do

Each site appears to be easy enough to utilize however I used Blogger before (I found it easy to use) and a step by step guide on how to use Blogger is listed in our textbook Creating Web Sites: The Missing Manual so I thought it would be easier for me to use.

Some interesting things I noted about some of the other blogs:

The USF blog site is based on Word Press Technology, has photo image software based on Gallery, can be used with the online bookmark software del.icio.us (something I also explored during the 23 things project) and can be used with the photo sharing and photo manipulation site flickr (also something I used during the 23 things project).

Word Press is compatible with iphone technology so that you can write and send posts if you have an iphone. You can also pay to customize your own address without the having word press in you domain name, add storage space and pay to have unlimited users.

Previously I tried out the online productivity web-based word processing program Zoho Writer for the 23 things project. I found this software easily usable. It can also be used to produce a blog using the software html option.
