Prefaces of the Principles of Beautiful Web Design and Learning Web Design

I am really looking forward to reading The Principles of Beautiful Web Design by Jason Beaird. In the preface Beard makes it clear as to the type of designer he is. He discusses the need for a balance between elements in order to create an aesthetically pleasing web site. Beard also emphasizes the need for one to design for the future. It is very easy for one to look at design trends or fads of now, but will it hold up in the future? I think that classic design is very key to good design. This is the type of web design that I am interested in creating.

The preface for Learning Web Design: A Beginner's Guide to (X)HTML, Style Sheets, and Web Graphics by Jennifer Niederst Robbins touches upon the changes of HTML since the book's last printing. Styles sheets are now being used where as table-based layouts were being used previously. This book is more about coding than the other two books being used in class.
